Devils Tower, in Wyoming, is a magnet for powerful electrical storms and rock climbers. Native Americans of the Plains have long revered the tower as a ceremonial site, and know it as Lodge of the Bear (Mato Tipila to the Lakota). It became America's first National Monument in 1906.
