About SLFP
The Sacred Land Film Project (SLFP) is part of the non-profit Earth Island Institute based in San Francisco, California, USA. We produce a variety of media and educational materials — films, videos, DVDs, articles, photographs, school curricula materials and website content — to deepen public understanding of sacred places, indigenous cultures and environmental justice. Our mission is to use journalism, organizing and activism to rekindle reverence for land, increase respect for cultural diversity, stimulate dialogue about connections between nature and culture, and protect sacred lands and diverse spiritual practices.
We produced the documentary film, In the Light of Reverence, which aired on PBS in 2001 and is distributed by Bullfrog Films.
We are currently in production on a documentary film series on sacred places around the world, entitled Losing Sacred Ground.
Founded in 1984, the project is directed by filmmaker Christopher “Toby” McLeod. Detailed project staff bios are listed on the SLFP website.
We welcome your support. All donations are tax-deductible.
