Through screenings of the documentary, In the Light of Reverence, the Sacred Land Film Project educates the public about the meaning and importance of Native American sacred places. To counter growing threats and ensure that the sacred sites and religious freedom of indigenous peoples are respected, we have formed the Sacred Land Defense Team.

When bulldozers are poised to tear into a sacred mountain or high-priced corporate lobbyists try to kill protection for Native American holy places, we alert the Sacred Land Defense Team with a call to action via e-mail.

We target key decision-makers in corporations, media and government and deluge them with emails, phone calls, letters and faxes. Our message: The survival of America’s first cultures is a matter of religious freedom and social justice.
