Kusi Quyllur Education Institute is located in the annex of Quchamuqu in Hatun Q’eros. With 36 families, Quchamuqu is the biggest annex in Hatun Q’eros.

The Q’ero region is located on the eastern slopes of a group of mountain peaks, near the Vilcanota range. From more than 15,000 feet down to 5,000 feet in the jungle, the community inhabits a territory of many different ecological levels. The land is within the Province of Paucartambo,  District of Paucartambo, and Department of Cusco, Peru. The name of Q’eros refers to eight ayllus that 50 years ago formed distinct haciendas in the Paucartambo region. There are five communities that are part of the Assocation of Communities of the Q’eros Nation: Hatun Q’ero, Q’ero Totorani, Japu, Quico y Marcachea. In total the Nation of Q’eros has a population of 2,139 people.
