In May, SLFP screened segments of the forthcoming Standing on Sacred Ground film series at the U.N. Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York and the annual conference and film festival of the International Funders for Indigenous Peoples.

In a workshop run by Eli Moore through a partnership with the Pacific Institute and the Data Center, the Winnemem Wintu learn here about GPS devices, setting waypoints and uploading the information to a computer so that they can record their history and protect their sacred sites.

In August 2010, the team at Sacred Land Film Project traveled to Alberta Canada, the site of  one of the world’s largest oil sands deposits and the place where more than half of the oil produced goes straight to the US.
